Ever since this club induldged into serious coaching, Panther’s has been regularly making sure a few athletes under our banner qualify for the Sukma games representing Perak. In line with this, our preparation towards any Sukma Games, begings from scrutinising our athletes performance from their schools sports, MSSD, MSSPerak and MSSM. In addition to these platforms, our club through our own expenditure will expose those potential athletes to participate at various local and out of state competitions namely Kinta District Championship, Perak Open Championship and a few selected out of state competitions.

In normal circumstances, a few talented athletes will be identified by the Perak Sports Council and roped into their Sukma preparation programs and until the actual Sukma Games. We are indeed proud to mention here that, athletes from our Club had contributed tremendously and could say were instrumental in makning Perak hit the targeted medals set by MSN.

In line with this, our coaches will take serious consideration since, Sukma Games is an important platform whereby athletes who excel at these Games, hold good opportunity into being identified by the National Sports Council for the National Development program and also a pathway to enter nation wide Sports Schools and then on to Universities.

We have already put in place two levels of Development Programs. The 1st program is to prepare our athletes who are potential for the next Sukma Games to be held in Johor in 2022. A total of 19 athletes have been identified and they have indeed started progressive training since end of 2019. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic which hit badly since begining 2020, the training plan has been seriously affected causing us to make numerous adjustments. We remain optimistic, these athletes will keep their spirit strong until the Sukma Trials in March 2021

These athletes have been identified after gauging various competition results and alots of effort is being placed to prepare them for the said trials. After the said trials, those who succeed to be selected will enter into the Perak Sports Council training program.

As mentioned earlier, athletes who join Panther’s training are deligintly monitored, especially to scout their talents progressively. Through this process, athletes who fall within the criteria to be talented will be handpicked and labelled for their potential events. Their onward training will be focused towards the event that had been labelled. Usually these catogery of athletes will be placed into a minium 5 years program and they fall within the age of 11 onwards.

Basing on the above criteria, Panther Athletic Club had already placed a total of 14 athletes under the Grass root Development Program. These athletes as they sail through this program will be picked up, basing on their improvement for the 2024 Sukma games where they will be eligible to participate.

The ulteria motive behind this idea of early detection is to provide the athlete an feeling of confidence in their ability which we belief will further motivate them to train harder. This too will be an agitating factor for the said athlete to feel as a ‘champion’.

ATHLETES IDENTIFIED FOR LONG TERM PROGRAM 2023 - 2027

To ensure this grass root development program meets the aspiration of the Club, an appeal has been forwarded for financial funding estimated at RM75,000.00 for 3 years. This funding is for the expenses towards payment of coaches travel allowance, athletes’ basic training attires, medical expenses, participation fees at local and selected out of state competitions and travelling allowance for desired athletes.


Appeals have been forwarded and if we do not succeed, the Club will use its funds to overcome situational problems that we encounter.
